It’s well know that for the majority of long term smokers your life will be shortened and the chances of a miserable death are quite high.Ripple effect
A lot of people say that they are not afraid of dying because they are thinking that their death will be quick. In the vast majority of cases death from long term smoking is usually prolonged and a miserable process.
This type of death can have quite a ripple effect on members of your family and friends. The most common causes of death from smoking are cancer and heart attack. You may argue that the heart attack is quick, but what happens if you survive? Cancer in most cases is a long prolonged and painful event.
You may also argue that people who do not smoke can also die from cancer or heart attack. That’s true but by smoking cigarettes you increase the risk of cancer and heart disease.
Both of these diseases and many others associated with smoking place a huge financial and emotional burden on family and friends. It’s horrible to watch someone die slowly inch by inch. It’s also costly and families often have to place their lives on hold to care for a loved one.
Whatever the benefit you get from smoking cigarettes I would suggest is far outweighed by the health problems that it can lead to. It makes sense to quit smoking, the sooner the better. We once used to think that the damage caused by smoking was irreversible. We now know that, that is not true. However, the quicker you stop smoking the more the damage can be reversed.
With a lot of smokers there is in the back of their minds that thought of the possibility of cancer, quit smoking and remove that fear. Stop smoking and increase your chances of a long and vital life.
