Is Smoking Addictive?

Are you too physically addicted to cigarettes to free yourself from them?
Usually, you start smoking when you are young and at first you own smoking and you can quit anytime. However, bit by bit smoking starts to own you and eventually it does and many of us feel as if it is now an addiction. The tobacco companies and the perception of society reinforce this.
Most people have tried to quit smoking but have not succeeded, and this reinforces the perception of smoking being an addiction. It’s not just stopping smoking that’s important, but how you stop.

Smoking Helps You to Survive

At Quit Smoking in 60 Minutes in Capalaba, I have been researching some of the benefits of smoking. Most people will say that there are no benefits to smoking cigarettes, however, you do nothing if you do not get a benefit, hence you do get benefits.

From the age of 12 to about 25, the urge to fit in and be accepted can and will override the consequences of our actions. It is my experience that the urge to fit in will override consequences until we die. The brain translates the urge to fit in and be accepted as a survival […]

Filters Destroy The Environment

In this blog I thought that I would give you some information about your cigarettes. I find that with my clients at Quit Smoking Expert in Capalaba if I give them a better understanding of their habit there success rate in quitting smoking cigarettes increases. As the main success factor for quitting smoking with hypnosis is you have to want to I also find that by having a better idea of smoking helps with this motivation.

In 1925, inventor Boris Aivaz patented the process of making a cigarette filter from crepe paper, with some variants including cellulose wadding. Aivaz produced the […]

Darn!! Started Again!

Around about 5% of the clients that come to see us at Quit Smoking in 60 Minutes for quitting smoking cigarettes with hypnosis start smoking again. Why is this so? I have been doing some analysis of our clients and have come up with two main reasons why people who quit smoking with us using hypnosis start smoking again.

The first reason is that the client did not really want to quit smoking. You would think that if somebody came to see us they really did want to quit. Everybody that smokes needs to quit smoking but not everybody wants to. […]

E Cigarettes: Good or Bad?

Electronic cigarettes are gaining ground as people search for what they perceive is a healthier way to beat the habit of smoking. I get more and more clients at quit smoking in 60 minutes who have tried e-cigarettes in the hope of quitting smoking. The problem is that they do not quit, they just change the habit from smoking cigarettes to smoking e-cigarettes. I for one do not believe they are healthier if nicotine is involved. When are people going to wake up to the fact that nicotine is extremely poisonous and stresses your circulatory system.

While most researchers say e-cigarettes […]

So what’s Hypnosis?

I get a lot of clients here at quit smoking expert in Capalaba with some very weird and strange notions of what hypnosis is. Believe it or not but the most common question is, am I going to make them cluck like a chicken. Unfortunately most people have had their beliefs of hypnosis developed from stage shows or TV. Hypnosis is so much more than entertainment, I don’t even have a gold watch to hypnotise people!

Hypnosis has been around since the early days of the Egyptians where they had sleep clinics. In fact hypnosis is a powerful tool to change […]

Blogs are they true?

Just recently I came across this blog;
“When we quit smoking, most of us go through a fair amount of junkie thinking – the internal battle between our addiction and ourselves. Early on in smoking cessation, the dialogue can seem relentless. It’s often persistent, annoying and exhausting. It is however, temporary, and the less attention you give to unhealthy thoughts of smoking, the better.
Thoughts of smoking just one cigarette have been the ruin of many good quitting efforts. It’s important for you to realize ahead of time that these mental contortions are a normal part of the recovery process.”
There are a […]

Some Chemicals Found in Cigarettes

Here are some hidden ingredients you can find in a cigarette. The toluene in glue and cigarettes is a toxic substance that produces euphoria and irritation of the airways and lungs. Cadmium is extremely poisonous and can be found in cigarettes, it results in kidney damage. Tar is an ingredient found in roads and tires as well as cigarettes. Is Nicotine Beneficial?

For quite a few people, nicotine provides the benefits that some people get from caffeine or Ritalin: it helps them focus and be more productive, overcoming attention-deficit-type problems. For some people, nicotine provides relief from stress, anxiety, or panic. For people suffering from some severe mental illnesses, nicotine seems to provide great relief, which probably explains why a very large fraction of psychiatric patients smoke.
Nicotine is also suspected as the reason for the lower incidence of Parkinson’s Disease among smokers. And for those who have it, nicotine appears to reduce the associated symptoms.
Laws against smoking in public places are often […]
