The fact is that if you want to smoke cigarettes then you will smoke cigarettes and no amount of changing the packaging will stop it. It certainly did not cause people to beat a path to our door to quit smoking. In fact it was quite interesting to see what people did.
At first there was a rush to buy cigarette holders which hid the pictures on the packages. What I found even more amazing was that people started insisting on packets with certain horror photographs on them.
It is proven that when you show horror photos to the public they ignore them. This fact was clearly ignored with introducing so called plain packaging. As an experiment I asked people what the photo was on their cigarette packet. 98% did not know or cared! The average Australian smoker is now completely desensitised to this packaging and this is borne out by the fact that more cigarettes were sold in 2014 than the same period in 2013.
If you want to quit smoking then you have to make the decision to stop smoking cigarettes. if you have made this decision and feel that you cannot go it alone then get help to quit. Once the decision is made you can easily quit with hypnosis and in fact you can quit smoking cigarettes in 60 minutes if you want to. No amount of packaging will cause you to quit, it may be a very small contribution to the decision but even this is debatable.
