Quit Smoking Worldwide

Quit Smoking Worldwide

One thing that I love about helping people to quit smoking worldwide is that I get to meet people from all sorts of places and backgrounds.

Just recently I had someone come from Mongolia to stop smoking cigarettes. He was based in Australia but was working on a mine in Mongolia. Another lady came to quit smoking cigarettes, she was born in Harbin when it was administered by Russia. She had come to Australia at the age of 12 with only one word of English. Yet another gentleman who came to see me to quit smoking cigars was an artist in […]

What’s your reason to Quit Smoking?

The reasons that my clients have to want to quit smoking are varied.  Just simple reason such as ‘I’m Over it!’ are common.  As are health; kids; grand-kids and sickness, they are common as well.  However, recently I had a client who told me a completely differently reason.  He’d had a health check and the Doctor told him if he continued to smoke cigarettes he would have to give up his job, which he loved.

Sounds like a really good reason to want to quit smoking, right? This is when I then asked him a really crucial question. If cigarettes were […]

Quit Smoking and Cigarettes on the Net

For the past 10 years I have worked with clients, face to face in my consulting rooms in Capalaba.  However, for 5 to 6 years I have also worked over the internet via SKYPE or ZOOM.   So I was I was surprised when I had a client recently who came to me to quit smoking and he had been waiting ages to do it. When I asked him why he said that he lived in the country. Distance meant this was the first time he had been able to get into the city to see me. I told him that we […]

Imagine to Quit Smoking

Often people who come to quit smoking using hypnosis think that it is up to the hypnotherapist to make them stop smoking. The only person who can make change in your life is you.

You can help to make the process of quit smoking more powerful by imagining the ‘result you want!’ Notice I have not said visualising. Visualising is all about bringing a picture up into your mind. If you are like me, and most are, it’s really hard to bring up a clear picture in my mind.

Imagining is all about feeling and being in the event. You can imagine […]

Blame and Shame of Smoking Cigarettes

Just recently I visited Sri Lanka. I was quite surprised to see that hardly any of the local people smoked cigarettes. The group that smoked the most were overseas visitors.

I asked my guide “why” so few Sri Lankan’s smoked. He told me that several years ago the government had launched a campaign to shame and blame smokers and that it had been very effective. Whilst I don’t advocate such a program I wondered why their quit smoking campaign had been so effective.

The only thing that seemed logical was the culture of the people and the country. The government is listened […]

Are You a Good Role Model for Your Children?

Are You a Good Role Model for Your Children?

One of the many reasons why people decide to quit smoking is the person feels they are not a good role model for their children.

Children look up to their parents and often mimic what they do. I have lost count of the number of people who have come to quit smoking because their child has been seen pretending to smoke cigarettes. Young Kids think everything you do is right and acceptable!

When you are smoking ‘to calm yourself’ when stressed or anxious, you teach your children that the best way to handle stress and anxiety is to ‘light up a smoke.’ […]

Is Smoking an Addiction?

Is Smoking an Addiction or a Habit? Let’s break that myth right now! The majority of smokers think they are ‘addicted’ to nicotine! But did you know, it is a scientifically proven fact that there is no physical trace of nicotine in the body after 48 to 72 hours.

Smoking Addiction or Habit

The Myth of smoking Addiction was circulated by the tobacco companies to ‘trick’ smokers into believing they couldn’t quit smoking, and, if they tried, it would be very hard to stop smoking. There is more nicotine in ‘patches’ than there is in a cigarette! I would bet you […]

To Succeed You Need to Engage

I had a client come to see me for quit smoking. Before we started I was careful to explain that you have to engage for the process to succeed. In other words, you have to accept all suggestions and act on them.

Not long into the hypnosis session I noticed that she was just closing her eyes but not accepting the suggestions that I was giving her. I stopped the session and then asked her what was going on for her. She told me that she was consumed about the recent death of a friend and was finding it very hard […]

What is Hypnosis?

When most people think of hypnosis they think of stage shows or television shows. The hypnotist in those shows is usually very good and entertaining.

When people think of hypnotherapy they tend to think of it as the same as hypnosis. Whilst hypnosis can be used for entertainment it can also be used for therapy, hence the word hypnotherapy.

Go to a dozen hypnotherapists and you will get a dozen different explanations of what hypnosis is. My definition is that hypnosis is a state of acceptance and focus that causes a change of state. We all spend our lives in and out […]

Learn How To Prevent Relapse

Understanding how to prevent relapse is very simple with Quit Smoking hypnosis. After your session you will be given a CD or MP3 to listen to and a Health Guidelines. Part of our Hypnosis therapy is a little homework. Your job is to listen to the CD at least once every day. It is not long, but is essential. This is a specifically prepared hypnosis to ‘reinforce and cement’ the suggestions and habit changes that were installed, to avoid relapse, during your Quit smoking in 60 minutes session.

It takes 30 days to change a habit. Your smoking is essentially […]
