People who want to quit smoking often want to but set themselves up for failure, this may be consciously or unconsciously.

When people came to me at Quit Smoking in 60 Minutes in Capalaba they can tell me all the reasons why they want to quit smoking but very few reasons why they cannot quit smoking.

In their minds they see that smoking is a crutch or a friend. Many people see that smoking is a way to help them destress. I have had many people from the Cleveland, Wynnum and Manly areas say to me that they cannot handle a stressful situation without smoking. The answer is that you can as there are many people who handle stress without smoking, these people have a strategy that enables them to handle stress without smoking. Smokers have a strategy to handle stress with smoking.

Most of the people that I see are from Queensland and you will be surprised of how many people see smoking as a friend. When I point out that that this so called friend could be the one that kills them slowly and miserably they begin to see the illusion that they have been having.

Smoking cigarettes is a strategy for success if you do not want to live a long time and increase your chances of cancer and heart disease. If you do not want this then you have to change your strategy which includes mindset and quitting smoking. I am like a mentor in that I will help you to change your mindset about smoking and help you devise a strategy that enables you to become a permanent non-smoker.
